What is an iPaaS and what does X1 do?

What is the difference between EDI and API integration?
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is a standardized format that has been the dominant standard for supply chain communication for decades — and most carriers and trading partners still require it. API integration uses modern web protocols (REST, JSON, XML) that newer platforms prefer. X1 handles both natively, which matters because real-world logistics networks require both. A platform that's 'API-first only' will hit a wall when connecting to the majority of the carrier network that still runs on EDI.
Is EDI still relevant in supply chain?
